Doug Davidson plays 'Paul Williams'

• Paul is the son of police detective Carl Williams and homemaker Mary Williams, he has two brothers and a sister.
• As a young man, Paul romanced Nikki Reed and has remained pals with Nikki, while going on to romance several other women including prostitute Cindy Lake, April Stevens (the mother of his daughter Heather), Lauren Fenmore, Cassandra Rawlins, Christine Williams, Isabella Brana, and Ashley Abbott.
• Paul opened up his own private eye agency with pal Andy Williams. The two worked on many cases together including one in which they rescued Lauren, who had been buried alive by the unbalanced Shawn Garrett.
• Paul and Lauren started to reconcile, but her getting a naked picture of Paul published in a skin magazine gave the private eye reason to reconsider.
• Paul moved on to a romance with "Sandy," not knowing she was the very married Mrs. Cassandra Rawlins, the wife of his friend George.
• Paul faked his own suicide and went on the run after he was framed for George's murder.
• Paul then became romantically involved with Christine Blair but called off the engagement after learning that he was temporarily impotent (due to injuries).
• Paul was reunited with his daughter when April (who was being abused by her new husband) and Heather came to town.
• Paul and Christine Blair wed but disagreed on when to start a family.
• Paul was reunited with his father Carl, who'd been missing and presumed dead for years but Carl had developed amnesia and opted to remain with his new love Ruth in another state.
• Attorney Michael Baldwin hired Isabella to pose as a needy client and eventually romance Paul while Christine was out of the country on business. Paul's involvement with Isabella led to Christine filing for divorce.
• Later, Paul fathered a son, Ricky, with Isabella. After Ricky's christening, Paul found himself unable to control his passion for Christine. Later, Paul saved Christine from Isabella, who had framed Christine for her "murder." Isabella was sent to prison; her parents are raising Ricky in California.
