Eric Braeden plays 'Victor Newman'

• Victor Newman not only survived being left in an orphanage at the age of seven by his destitute mother, Cora, but he also managed to become one of the world's richest and most powerful business tycoons. Victor is loving and protective toward family and loved ones, but if crossed then he can more than live up to the adjective that many have used to describe him – ruthless.
• Victor showed how heartless he could be when he imprisoned Michael Scott in his basement after learning that he was sleeping with Victor's wife Julia. A pregnant Julia freed Michael, but lost their baby after arguing with Victor.
• Next, Victor met Nikki Reed who was working as a stripper at the Bayou. Nikki gave birth to Victor's daughter Victoria and the couple wed. Nikki attempted to re-unite Victor and Cora. Initially furious with Cora for never returning for him, Victor made peace with his mother before she died.
• Victor fell in love with Ashley Abbott and was devastated to learn that Ashley had aborted his baby so that he would stay with a dying Nikki (who later recovered). Victor and Nikki divorced after he accused her of purposely supplying information about Ashley's abortion to an unauthorised biographer, Leanna Randolph (aka Nora Randall).
• Victor's chief rival in business has been Jack Abbott. The two have gone up against each other many times and fought for the love of many women over the years with Victor often emerging the winner.
• Victor began a new life in Kansas with blind farmer Hope Adams, whom he met after being presumed dead when his car was stolen and crashed.
• Victor returned and in time divorced Hope who returned to Kansas with Victor's son, Victor, Jr.
• The mogul next wed architect Diane Jenkins, Jack's ex-fiancée. Victor dumped Diane to wed a dying Nikki, who survived, much to Diane's chagrin. Victor and Diane's divorce, and hence his marriage to Nikki, were not legal.
• Victor remarried Nikki but he ran into trouble with federal agents after he rigged a competition between Jabot Cosmetics and Newman's cosmetics division. He was convicted of commercial bribery and spent a year on probation doing community service.
• The mogul learned he was a father a fourth time when Abby Carlton told him that he was her biological dad.
• Victor’s brother Matt informed Victor that their father, Albert, was alive, but very ill in a hospital in Toronto. In an emotional showdown, Victor confronted his father, blasting him for walking out on his family.
• Victor surprised everyone when he turned over the reins of Newman Enterprises to his son Nicholas. However, when Victor learned that Nick had an affair with Phyllis Abbott and that Victoria was going to marry Brad, Victor pulled a power play and fired Phyllis, returning to the top spot at his company.
• A head injury suffered while rescuing Nikki from a carjacking caused Victor to become epileptic. Victor left town on a spiritual quest, but eventually returned home to seek treatment. After undergoing brain surgery, Victor returned to good health.
