Michelle Stafford plays 'Phyllis Summers Abbott'

Michelle was born in Chicago, Illinois, but was raised in Montrose, California. After graduation, Michelle became a runway and print model.

Emmy winning actress Michelle Stafford returned to the role of Phyllis Summers on The Young and the Restless in June of 2000. She originated the role in 1994 and portrayed Phyllis until 1997.

In 1996, she received a Soap Opera Digest Award in the category Outstanding Newcomer. In 1997, she received a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Drama.

Michelle's television credits include guest starring roles in the series Judging Amy, JAG, Diagnosis Murder, The Watchers, Models Inc., Renegade, and Another Midnight Run. She has also starred in the series Pacific Palisades.

Her feature film credits include supporting roles in Double Jeopardy with Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones, Vampires Anonymous, The Big Bowling Bowl, Roadkill, The Desert and The Premise.

Michelle's stage credits are numerous and include starring roles in The Heart Beats in Waltz Time, Savage In Limbo, Nuts, Frankenstein, Annie Get Your Gun, An Incidental Evening, Fool For Love, Extremities, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Summer and Smoke and Twelfth Night.

• Michelle’s father was a lawyer and mother was an executive at Universal Studios.
• At age 18, was diagnosed with a brain tumour, but it wasn't malignant.
