Peter Bergman plays 'Jack Abbott'
Bergman was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where his father was serving in the United States Navy.
Peter Bergman joined The Young and the Restless as the multi-faceted Jack Abbott in October 1989.
He has received fourteen Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor (1990-2002 & 2007) for his work on Y&R, winning in 1991, 1992 and 2002.
He also received a 1983 Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series for his performance as Dr. Cliff Warner (1979-1989) on the daytime drama All My Children.
Peter's additional television credits include the television series The Five Mrs. Buchanans and The Nanny as well as the telefilms Woman on the Ledge, Kojak, Fantasies, Money, Power, Murder and Palimino and the series Pity the Poor Soldier.
Peter attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Upon graduation, he appeared in numerous regional theatrical productions and in several television commercials before landing his first role in daytime in 1979 on “All My Children”.
Peter has a passion for classical and contemporary music and enjoys playing the piano, which he began studying at the age of 20. He donates his time to several charities, and coaches his children's various sports teams. He also serves on the board of directors of his children's school.
